The Safe Start Center has released “Victimization and Trauma Experienced by Children and Youth: Implications for Legal Advocates,” a 16-page brief that examines the prevalence and impact of child victimization and exposure to violence. The publication also covers trauma-related stress symptoms, assessments, and treatments; offers practice tips for judges, attorneys, and court-appointed special advocates; and provides guidance for advancing policy to support trauma-informed practice.
